Hello Lovelies!

I wanted to share with you this wonderful recipe. If you like shortbread cookies you'll love these! Its the perfect treat to accompany your morning tea or coffee! It brings a little bit of spring to these long winter days! The winter is hard on my gardeners heart so I take every opportunity to bring springtime flavors into the kitchen!
This recipe is pretty quick and easily changes to suit your taste and creativity! So lets start by adding 2 cups of all purpose flour, 1/2 Tsp baking Powder, And 1/2 cup confectioners sugar in a large mixing bowl. You can easily sub the lavender and orange for rosemary & lemon or a verity of other combinations! So next add in 1/2 Tbs dried lavender & 1/2 Tbs orange zest. Melt 3/4 cup of butter and let cool. Once cool mix in butter and 1 tbs juice from orange & 2 Tbs of honey!

Mix until small lumps form
Then turn dough out on lightly floured surface! Kneed until dough comes together. The more the dough is worked the drier and tougher it will be. So be careful to not over work your dough.
Next roll out dough until is 1/4 inch thick. Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Grab your favorite cookie cutter and cut out your dough. Place cut out dough on prepared cookie sheet and place on middle rack in oven. Bake cookies for 15-20 minutes until lightly brown.

Once done place on cooling rack until completely cooled. I made a simple icing to dip the cookies in using 1/2 cup confectioners sugar and 1/4 cup heavy cream and a dot of purple food coloring to go along with the lavender theme! I sprinkled some dried lavender on top of the dipped wings!
I hope you love this recipe as much as I do!
Happy Baking!
